Life has a bittersweet way of teaching us lessons at the most unexpecting times. The lessons we refuse to accept will repeatedly return until it teaches us what we need to know. Regardless of whether it takes a week or years to learn, we can be humbled in knowing it happens to everyone.
1. Perspective: A Priceless Principle.
Your world is filled with unbothersome chaos at all hours of the day. Unbothersome chaos is every tiny movement / thought / decision you make while you’re awake, whether it’s conscious or not. It’s what makes you feel entitled to say “I’ve had such a long day today”. It’s what allows our mind to view our lives as stressful, lacking, and / or overwhelming. A lack of perspective is a dangerous thing. With this, you must assume an abundance of perspective is a positive – and you would be correct.
Next time you find yourself in a negative state of mind, think of what caused this shift towards negativity. Is this issue huge in the scope of your entire life? If you had a microphone that made your voice audible to the entire world (assuming they all understood your language), how would they respond to your negativity?
Perspective is priceless because it is universally understood. Yet so many of us lack it because we are stuck only looking inside of our own heads. The grand majority of what you’re dealing with today will not impact you in a matter of years. Gaining a sense of perspective will humble you, invigorate your gratitude, and allow your success to grow with strong roots.
2. Money Is Not The Solution To Your Problems
Your bad money management, your self-limiting beliefs, your problems at home, none of them will be solved with money alone. In the back of your mind, I truly believe that you know & understand that. Money is great for reducing the weight of the world’s “terms and conditions”. But it is not useful to fix your procrastination, your negativity, your resentments, your lack of appreciation, your selfishness, or anything you refuse to confront.
If you are bad with money with the amount you make currently, why would you be any different if more came into your life? We have all seen those who lack money and are underprivileged in every sense of the word. Some of those who are worst off financially are the happiest people you’ll ever meet. Some of those who are best off are the most bitter and ignorant people you’ll ever meet.
Start tracking your expenses, start budgeting, start recognizing that external sources will not heal your internal turmoil. It’s a beautiful and destructive fallacy.
3. Time Is At A Premium
The thought of anyone wasting their time with people they don’t love, distracting themselves with content that harms their world views, or simply “waiting for the perfect moment” is enough to drive some of us insane. The scarcity of time is a taboo topic; we don’t like to be reminded that we’ll never have more of it. We don’t like acknowledging our own self-sabotaging routine.
The mainstream society you live in nowadays is built off acquiring your attention. Social media will have you funneled into the life of someone you hardly know. Why? It’s difficult to stop once you’ve become so accustomed to it. Take a dive into your logical mind – is this person benefitting you? Are they helping your life? Would any negative repercussions happen to you if you slowed down on your intake of social media?
Your time is YOURS. Do with it as you wish, and recognize how you’re in control of getting ahead in life or falling behind.
