STOP WAITING AND START RESELLING YOUR STUFF (I made $600 in the 1st month)

reselling clothing for profit

No, I’m not saying sell everything and only keep 2 shirts, 1 sock, and a beanie!

If you’ve been on planet Earth for a while, you’ve noticed this huge pandemic going around. People are struggling on a multitude of levels and many of us are drowning trying to make ends meet. It’s not a good phase of life to go through at any age.

During the first few months of the pandemic, I scrambled to find ways to make myself more financially stable. I find it hard to trust sources that make me pay for their services to teach me how to make money. I’m trying to MAKE $$, not spend it!

According to CNBC, The resale market is expected to be valued at $64 billion in 5 years.

SORRY, WHAT?

So obviously, I thought to myself…. Mercari. Poshmark. Ebay. ThreadUP. Creating a product to sell on my website. *DING DING DING* HERE I GO!

It only took me an hour – I went through my clothing and made the decision to sell what I never wore. Not only clothing, though.

Shoes, jewelry, home decor, perfume, tools…..they were all options for me (and they should be for you, too).

What matters most in a listing:

  • Photos (if you have holes or stains, that’s okay, but SHOW THEM)
  • Quality of clothing
  • Response time for potential buyers (don’t take it personally, but people are impatient sometimes)
  • Description!!!! (putting “shirt for sale” is guaranteed to make it 100x more difficult for you. Be descriptive. Use keywords that people search for. Why is yours better than someone else’s?)

Taking the above into consideration – I made $597 in the first month. Profit. That’s when I knew I could look into cutting down costs (using different shipping sites, getting free supplies from USPS).

I also added a handwritten note in every order that I sent. I addresssed the buyer by name, thanked them for their order, and I wished them well. This has gotten me an exceptional response from my buyers.

I’m definitely not a seasoned reseller – and there is SO MUCH room for anyone trying to join! This industry is going to explode, so let’s all take advantage while the competition is small!
